Disclosure-first engagement

Definition

Disclosure-first engagement is community participation with your affiliation stated plainly, where a reader actually sees it. It is the posture that refuses astroturfing and sockpuppets: you earn a community's trust by being useful and open about who you are, not by hiding it.

Why it matters

Communities are where a lot of buying decisions and a lot of engine citations are made. They are also where undisclosed promotion gets caught fastest, and the moderators who ban shills are the same people who would otherwise vouch for you.

Answer engines increasingly weigh source credibility, not just keyword match, when they decide what to cite. A disclosed account with a real history of helping compounds in value; an undisclosed one gets purged the moment it is caught, and takes the brand's standing with it.

So disclosure is not only the ethical line. On the merits it is the stronger play, because genuine expertise stated openly is a moat the deceptive tactics cannot buy their way into.

How Jinn treats it

Jinn's community planner maps where a brand can genuinely help, ranking subreddits, forums, and Discord servers by real fit, and drafting a disclosure line for each one placed where readers see it, not buried at the bottom.

It will not plan astroturfing, sockpuppeting, vote manipulation, or undisclosed affiliation. That is a rule it will not break: ask for one and it says so plainly, then offers the value-first version instead.
